What’s the Similarity?
Two are bacially the same!
Both of these are Dextromethorphan HBr (DXM) – only medicines, designed just for reducing the cough reflex, helping patients rest more comfortably while the underlying cause of the cough is being treated. They won’t help with pain or fever. The tablet form is taken one at a time.
What’s the Difference?
However, the maximum daily dosage differs between products. While Robitussin can typically be taken up to four times per day, Medicon is generally limited to three doses daily.

If you have a wet cough with a lot of phlegm, your body needs to cough to clear your airways. In such cases, using a suppressant alone might make things worse. If your cough is productive (mucus-filled), consider combining this with an expectorant or consulting a local clinic if symptoms persist.

The “Pro” label indicates that these medications contain the maximum allowable concentration of active ingredients for non-prescription sales. In many cases, the ingredients and dosages are identical to what a doctor would prescribe in a Japanese clinic.
